John Forsythe is suffering from colon cancer
By Alan Smith

The former "Dynasty" star - who also played the unseen boss on "Charlie's Angels" - had surgery at a Los Angeles hospital to remove two malignant polyps.

"John was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. during the last week in September after colonoscopy results indicated that he had a malignancy and needed surgery immediately," said a source.

Forsythe, 88, came through the surgery well.

John's wife Nicole, whom he married just four years ago, remained by his bedside throughout the ordeal. "They got it all," she told The Enquirer. "There was no spread of the cancer to the lymph nodes or any other organs, thank goodness."

Nicole says her husband will not need to follow up the surgery with chemo or radiation. John's cancer was discovered during a routine colonoscopy.

"He had no symptoms," said Nicole. "But he hadn't had a colonoscopy for over a decade."

When doctors gave him the diagnosis, John was calm and ready to do whatever his doctors thought was necessary, according to Nicole. She denied reports that John was also suffering from the early symptoms of dementia.

"What he has, like a lot of old people, is a mild short-term memory loss and that's all," she told The ENQUIRER.

In fact, just before his surgery, Nicole and John went on a three-week tour of Europe and are now in the middle of planning a party for 100 friends and neighbors in a few months.

"He's sharp as a tack," she insisted. "And as handsome as ever!"
